#OccupyLekkiTollGate: Mr. Macaroni Picked up by the Nigerian Police Force

The Nigerian Police Force has arrested Mr. Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr. Macaroni because of his numerous comedy skits across social media, for participating in the ongoing February 13, 2021 Occupy Lekki Toll Gate protest.

The comedian cum activist had gathered alongside other protesters fighting against the reopening of Lekki Toll Gate until those who ordered the massacre of October 20, 2020 are prosecuted and victims and their families compensated.

According to a popular activist, Deji Adeyanju, it was President Muhammadu Buhari that ordered the arrest of protesters.

The activist said “The suffering and smiling police officers acting on the instructions of the Buhari regime have just collected @mrmacaroni’s phones and his IG live stopped.

“This is not a democracy but a military regime. #OccupyLekkiTollGate

“#OccupyLekkiTollGate: 10 protesters, Juwon, Kehinde, Kiara, and others arrested at the Lekki TollGate a few minutes ago. They’re currently being taken to an unknown destination in a Black Maria.”
