Billionaire and philanthropist, Femi Otedolar, on Friday shared pictures taken during his investiture as the president of the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping on April 21st, 2005.

In an Instagram post, the billionaire said he was the largest ship owner (oil tankers) in Africa at the time.

In his words, he said “Flashback Friday to April 21st 2005 (16 years ago), when I was the largest ship owner (oil tankers) in Africa. This day marked my investiture as the president of the Nigerian Chamber of shipping 🙏🏾 …F.Ote💲”

The statement came at a time the world is struggling to dislodge the huge ship blocking the Suez Canal, one of the world’s busiest and most important waterways in the world.

Otedola would have been greatly impacted if he was still in that line of business given that channel affects movement around the African cape.
