Multi-Million Naira Worth Of Goods Perish As Midnight Inferno Burns Many Shops In Nasarawa

Many traders at Masaka market, situated in Masaka town, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have been thrown into huge economic losses as their shops were razed down completely by midnight fire.

Investors King learned that the devastating incident happened in the early hours of Saturday as sympathisers struggled in vain to quench the raging fire.

Many of the traders affected by the uncontrollable fire said they could not salvage any of their goods as everything burnt to ashes.

The numerous shops affected have turned to rubbles as traders were seen lamenting their losses.

As at the time of filing this report, there is no official statement as to the cause of the fire disaster.

Some of the traders at the densely populated market who have lost fortune to the fire incident could not control their tears after sighting the humongous damage.

One of the affected traders told Investors King that his shop where he sold tailoring materials was totally razed.

He said, “I am in pain. This is what my family has got as end of the year gift. My shop is gone, my only means of surviving and feeding my family.’

It was learnt that the goods consumed by the fire run to millions of naira.

Meanwhile, the victims have called on the Nasarawa State Government and other well-meaning individuals to come to their aid with financial support, noting that their means of sustenance have been lost.

They urged the National Disaster Management Authorities to visit the scene of the fire and assess the level of damage and come up with far-reaching palliatives to them.

“We will be so happy if the Nasarawa State Government and other philanthropists can assist us. This damage is very huge and we don’t even know where to start. We solicit for help so as to start a new. We have lost several millions of naira to this fire,” one of the traders appealed.
