The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)  on Saturday reported 239 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation.

The centre said the total number of confirmed cases rose to 4151 on Saturday with 128 deaths. While the number of recovered and discharged patients increased to 745 cases.

“On the 9th of May 2020, 239 new confirmed cases and 11 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.”

Further breaking shows the 239 new cases were reported from 15 states with Lagos having the highest number of 97 new cases. Bauch followed with 44, Kano(29), Katsina(19), Borno(17), FCT(7), Kwara(6), Oyo(5), Kaduna(3), Sokoto(3), Adamawa(2), Kebbi(2), Plateau (2), Ogun(2) and Ekiti(1).”
