The number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation, rose by 87 on Saturday, according to the nation’s disease control centre.

In a twitter post, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said: “As at 11:55 pm 25th April there are 1182 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria.”

A breakdown of the report revealed that 33 new cases were confirmed in Lagos, 18 in Borno, 12 in Osun, 9 in Katsina, 4 in Kano, 4 in Ekiti, 3 in Edo, 3 in Bauchi and 1 in Imo.

Also, the total number of patients discharged so far rose to 222 while deaths due to the virus inched higher to 35, according to the NCDC.
