Accordingly, the number of confirmed cases in the country has now reached 78,797 after a 9.1 percent jump in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, in Nigeria, the total number of confirmed cases rose to 97 on Sunday, according to the nation’s centre for disease control.

A breakdown of cases by states shows Lagos has the highest number of confirmed cases at 59; FCT- 16; Ogun- 3; Enugu- 2; Ekiti- 1; Oyo- 7; Edo- 2; Bauchi- 2; Osun-2; Rivers-1; Benue- 1 and Kaduna- 1.
