  • Stock Investors Lose N130b on Wednesday

Stock investors at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) loses N130 billion on Wednesday as sell pressure persists.

The market capitalisation of listed equities dropped slightly from N15.30 trillion recorded on Monday to N15.17 trillion on Wednesday. While the NSE All-Share Index declined by 0.02 percent to close at 29,458.21 basis points.

Similarly, the year-to-date return moderated to 9.7 percent, up from 10 percent as value traded dropped.

Activity level was mixed as 315.67 million shares valued at N3.6 billion were traded. The total shares traded rose by 15.7 percent but value traded declined by two percent.

Austion Laz Company Plc led top traded stocks by value with 85 million shares, followed by Access Bank Plc and Guaranty Trust Bank Plce with 60.5 million and 26.4 million units, respectively.

However, GTB led the most traded stocks by value with N849.9 million, Access Bank and Dangote Cement Plc did N600.9 million and N573.2 million, respective.
