- Oil Workers Get National Pensioners’ Association
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Pensioners’ Association Nigeria has been inaugurated with the aim of fostering the interest of pensioners in the oil and gas industry.
PENGPAN said in a statement that the inauguration and resolution on the adoption of the name for the association took place in Lagos, on June 18, 2019.
It said, “The President of Shell Pensioners’ Association of Nigeria, Mr Bili Adekunle Bakare, was elected as the pro tem Chairman and the President of Chevron Pensioners’ Association, Mr Tiemo Francis, was elected the pro tem General Secretary.
“The main thrust of the inauguration is the merger of three major bodies and other small ones, namely Oil and Gas Industry Pensioners’ Association based in Lagos; Petroleum Industry Pensioners’ Association based in Warri and HYDRO-CARBON Pensioners’ Association based in Port-Harcourt. The move for the merger has been on since 2016.”
According to the statement, the objective is to have a national body to represent and foster the interest of pensioners’ in the oil and gas sector of the economy and in companies operating in Nigeria.
