The Acting Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed, has just been confirmed as the new Inspector General of Police.

President Buhari announced the confirmation at a police council meeting presided over by himself.

Mohammed became Acting Inspector General of Police on January 15 when he took over from the former IGP, Ibrahim Idris.
