Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has declared that the state has started the process of generating 10,000 jobs for unemployed youths through agricultural projects.

Speaking at Elele on Sunday during a reception marking the coronation and thanksgiving in honour Chief Mike Elechi as Obua Weze, Wike said the 10,000 would be generated via the expansion of Resonpalm Limited, Ubima.

Represented by the Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor, Chukwuemeka Woke, the governor explained that his administration was partnering with Siat Limited to plant new nurseries at the Oil Palm Plantation in Ubima in the extensive expansion scheme.

He added that the administration was in the process of reactivating Delta Rubber Limited in partnership with private investors to ensure that more jobs are created for the people of the state.

The governor said: “Aside our infrastructural development across the state, we are working with private investors to create 10,000 jobs through key agricultural projects.

He asked the people of Elele in Ikwerre Local Government Area to continue to support his administration to improve their standard of living.

The governor pointed out that Elele was one of the first communities that the process that led to the emancipation of the entire state.

He congratulated Chief Elechi on his coronation as Obua Weze, noting that the traditional recognition is a call to service
