An organised private sector group, Eko Business Dinner is bringing international funders ready to offer Nigerians loans on single interest digit.
Its Head of Operations,Mr. Chime Nwagbara, said reducing bank lending rates to single-digit levels will benefit most businesses.
He said with the recession, businesses which are the lifeblood of the economy need cheap loans to enable them survive the economic crisis.
He said the organisation is ready to support the government’s efforts to gradually lower the cost of borrowing, which they hope will stimulate economic growth.
According to him, his organisation is partnering with financial service providers in Europe and Asia by offering single-digit interest rates and are ready to support local Nigerian companies seeking cheap funds to finance their projects.
He said the loans would support energy, transport, communications and water investment opportunities.
To this end, Nwagbara said the group is organising a business dinner on October 22, bringing delegation of funders to meet local companies to explore potential business and partnering opportunities.
He explained that the programme will comprise intimate highly-interactive sessions that give entrepreneurs, investors and financiers the best platform to build relationships and forge business-to-business and business-to-government partnerships.
The forum,according to him, is expected to secure investment pledges and commitments, joint venture partnerships between local and foreign companies, financial arrangements, and export orders, among other deliverables.
He said the event is designed to provide ample opportunity for guests to make contactss and network with senior figures from the business and financial communities, as well as the public sector.
