The Nigerian Stock Exchange had a bearish run on Tuesday as Nestle, Dangote Cement, Cadbury, International Breweries and others topped the losers’ table.
The All Share Index dropped by 1.53 percent or 531.25 index points to close at 34,242.83 index points from 34,774.08 index points it traded on Monday.
The market capitalization of listed equities shed 278 billion from 18.171 trillion it traded on Monday to close at 17.893 trillion on Tuesday.
At the end of trading hours of Tuesday, investors traded 9.360 million shares worth N12.021 billion in 8,712 deals. While Conoil, GTBank, Dangote Sugar, Glaxosmith, and BOCGAS led the gainers’ table.
UAC-PROP led the most traded equities with 8.519 million shares value at N5.964 billion. Jaiz Bank followed with 304 million shares estimated at N222.222 million.
