Stock Market Closed in the Green as Cap, Stanbic, Glaxosmith Others Gain as
Investors gained N18 billion on Thursday following a surged in the value of stocks of Cap, Stanbic, Glaxosmith and others.
Investors exchanged 179.549 million shares worth N2.526 billion in 3,055 transactions during the trading hours of Thursday.
The market capitalisation of listed equities rose to N13.149 trillion, while the NSE All-Share Index gained 0.13 percent to settle at 25,204.58 basis points.
In terms of the volume traded, Transorp led with 35,478,532 shares valued at N21,470,211.87. GTBank, Lasaco, FBNH and Zenith Bank followed with 29,938,497, 11,863,927, 9,975,090 and 9,647,937 shares worth N755,908,466.10, N3,505,117.77, N49,931,307.20 and N163,462,859.90, respectively.
Cap led the top gainers’ chart with 85 kobo or 5.56 percent to settle at N16.15 per share. This was followed by 50 kobo gain from Stanbic, International Breweries’ 30 kobo gain, Glaxosmith’s 25 kobo gain and Fidson’s 25 kobo gain.
However, Studio Press led losers with 19 kobo or 9.6 percent decline. UACN Property Development Company followed with a 9.47 percent decline.
Abctrans dipped by 8.51 percent, while UBA and UHOMREIT added 0.75 percent and 0.12 declines, respectively.
