Dangote Cement Has Approved the Appointment of KPMG as Auditor

Dangote Cement Plc has approved the appointment of KPMG Professional Services as the External Auditor of the company.

The company’s board of directors approved the appointment at the company’s annual general meeting that was held on Monday, June 15, 2020 at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos, Nigeria.

The appointment of KPMG came after the joint auditors of the company Deloitte and Touche, and Ahmed Zakari and Co. retired.

The board of directors also accepted the Audited Financial Statements for the Year Ended December 31, 2019 and the reports of the directors, auditors and the audit committee.

Similarly, they cleared a dividend of N16 for every ordinary share of 50 kobo each to all shareholders whose names appeared on the company’s registered at the close of business on May 25, 2020.

The re-elections of retired directors Viswanathan Shankar, Michael Davis, Cherie Blair, Douraid Zaghouani and Sani Dangote were also approved by directors during the meeting.

Five million Naira (N5,000,000) remuneration was approved for the company’s chairman while four million Naira (N4,000,000) was approved for the non-executive directors for the year ended 31, December 2020.
