The Malaysia High Commissioner to Nigeria, Gloria Tiwet, said Nigeria’s trade volume with the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) rose to $7.7 billion in 2017.

“For 2017, the trade volume between ASEAN and Nigeria rose to $7.7 billion”, indicating a promising and growing business relationship.

Tiwet who led the Head of Missions of Embassies and High Commissioner of ASEAN member-states on a working visit to the ministry of foreign affairs in Abuja on Monday said ASEAN envoys were in the ministry to inform the minister Geoffrey Onyeama of the ASEAN Day and Film Festival scheduled to hold between August 8 and 10 in Abuja.

She further stated that the association is looking to improve trade relations between Asian nations and Nigeria.
