The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has warned Nigerians to beware of fraudsters using its recruitment process to scam vulnerable and unsuspecting individuals, stressing that its recruitment is completely free of charge.
This announcement follows the agency’s commencement of its 2025 recruitment process for interested and eligible Nigerians to join the service.
In a statement released on Friday via its social media handles, the Nigeria Customs Service announced that it is accepting applications for various positions in its Superintendent, Inspector, and Customs Assistant cadres.
To qualify for the vacant positions, the service emphasized that applicants must be Nigerians by birth.
Additionally, applicants must possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN) and have no criminal record or ongoing investigations.
The NCS advised that applicants who do not meet these qualifications should refrain from applying, as their applications will not be considered.
The service also stressed that only physically and mentally fit applicants will be considered, adding that they must provide evidence of medical fitness from a recognized government hospital for verification.
Warning applicants to be cautious of scammers, the NCS stated: “The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) reminds all Nigerians that our recruitment process is completely FREE and FAIR. We DO NOT charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process. If anyone demands payment, they are scammers. Do not fall victim to fraud.”
