The Green Impact Exchange Traded Fund (GREENWETF) extended its upward momentum on Wednesday, rising above the N800 mark as investor interest in exchange-traded funds (ETFs) remained resilient despite a slight pullback in the broader equity market.

Trading data for September 2, 2026, showed GREENWETF appreciating from N763.05 to N800.00, representing a gain of N36.95 in a single trading session and one of the strongest performances across the ETF segment.

The latest advance builds on the fund’s recent rally.

Over the past several trading sessions, GREENWETF has maintained a consistent upward trajectory, climbing from N745.00 on August 27 to N760.00 on September 1 before reaching N800.00 on Wednesday.

The sustained appreciation suggests investors have continued increasing exposure to the fund even as activity in the broader market moderated.

Date GREENWETF Price Daily Change
August 27 N759.90 +N14.90
August 31 N760.00 +N1.10
September 1 N763.05 +N3.05
September 2 N800.00 +N36.95

The strength in GREENWETF came as the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) paused after two consecutive days of gains.

The NGX All-Share Index (ASI) slipped 0.03 percent to 246,019.17 points, while investors traded 426.84 million shares valued at N28.44 billion, down from 651.32 million shares worth N40.77 billion recorded a day earlier.

Despite the moderation in overall market activity, the ETF segment continued to attract buying interest.

VETINDETF also advanced from N118.99 to N124.50, gaining N5.51, while MERVALUE maintained its previous close at N150.00 after recording a strong gain on September 1.

VETGRIF30 remained unchanged at N108.50, while VETBANK eased marginally from N30.98 to N30.90.

The performance suggests investor appetite for diversified investment products remained intact even as trading activity across the broader equity market slowed.

The consistency of ETF performance is particularly noteworthy when viewed against recent trading sessions.

Throughout the final week of August and into early September, ETFs have repeatedly featured among the market’s strongest-performing investment products.

Rather than representing isolated gains, Wednesday’s advance extends a broader trend of sustained demand for diversified funds.

The continued strength in GREENWETF also indicates that investors are broadening their investment strategies beyond individual equities.

While banking stocks continue to dominate market liquidity and sectors such as insurance and energy have attracted fresh buying interest, the resilience of ETFs suggests many investors are also seeking diversified exposure as market sentiment improves.

Although the broader market paused on Wednesday, the ETF segment remained one of the brightest areas of the Exchange.

GREENWETF’s move above N800 reinforces the positive momentum that has characterised ETF trading over recent sessions and highlights sustained investor confidence in diversified investment products despite the moderation in overall market turnover.
