The Nigerian Naira recorded a notable gain against the United States Dollar in the informal foreign exchange market on Monday as improved dollar liquidity and moderated demand strengthened the local currency.
As of Monday, February 11th 2026, the Dollar to Naira exchange rate in the black market stands at ₦1,442 per dollar for buying and ₦1,452 per dollar for selling, according to verified quotations from Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, and other key trading hubs.
The fresh appreciation marks one of the strongest performances for the Naira so far in February. Compared to late January levels when the Dollar to Naira rate hovered near ₦1,490–₦1,500, the current rate reflects improved supply conditions and renewed confidence in short-term FX stability.
