First HoldCo Appoints New Board Members Across Non-Bank Subsidiaries

First HoldCo Plc has announced a broad round of board appointments across its non-commercial banking subsidiaries, following regulatory approvals from the Securities and Exchange Commission and the National Insurance Commission.

The appointments, disclosed in Lagos on Friday, January 9, 2026, form part of the Group’s governance and growth strategy aimed at strengthening oversight, deepening leadership capacity, and positioning its non-bank businesses for long-term expansion.

According to the Group, the new board members bring extensive experience across banking, capital markets, insurance, asset management, and corporate advisory services.

The changes are designed to align the subsidiaries with international corporate governance standards while enhancing product development and service delivery.

At First Asset Management Limited, Ebikabo Williams has been appointed Chairman of the Board. Her background spans banking, capital markets, and consulting.

She will serve alongside Usman Dantata Jr., Binta Max Gbinije, and Alero Mobola Adollo. The appointments are expected to reinforce the company’s standing in Nigeria’s asset and wealth management segment.

FirstCap Limited has named Yewande Amusan as Chairman. She brings experience from both the public and private sectors. Other board members appointed include Ahmed Indimi, Irene Akpofure, Adenike Kuti, and Zeal Akaraiwe.

First Securities Brokers Limited, recently ranked among top-performing firms in the Nigerian Exchange Limited’s brokers’ performance report by trading volume and transaction value, has appointed John Akpeki as Chairman.

He will work with Omolara Adeyemi, Susan Younis, and Kemi Andu-Alausa to drive the firm’s next phase of growth.

First Trustees Limited has also reconstituted its board with the appointment of John Lee as Chairman. Lee has over four decades of experience in global financial services, with expertise in corporate and institutional banking as well as wealth management across Africa. He is joined by Abiola Alabi, Adebisi Sola-Adeyemi, and Ugochukwu Obi-Chukwu.

In the insurance segment, First Insurance Brokers, which marked its 25th anniversary last year, has appointed Akinola Phillips as Chairman.

Other board members include Ije Onejeme, Folukemi Akinmeji, and Mojisola Cardozo.

Commenting on the appointments, Femi Otedola, Group Chairman of First HoldCo Plc, said the new board members would play a key role in shaping the Group’s next growth phase.
