MTN Nigeria Communications Plc has disclosed board and leadership updates following changes at MTN Group.

The company said Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Karl Olutokun Toriola, will assume an additional mandate as Vice President, Francophone Africa at MTN Group, covering Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, and Congo Brazzaville. He retains his role as CEO of MTN Nigeria.

According to the Group and local reports, the expanded brief is effective November 1, 2025.

MTN Nigeria also announced that Mr. Ferdinand (Ferdi) Moolman, a Non-Executive Director on the company’s board, will exit the board effective October 31, 2025 following his appointment as Chief Executive Officer of MTN South Africa with effect from November 1, 2025.

The board expressed appreciation to Moolman for his service and wished him success in his new role.

The updates consolidate MTN Group’s wider leadership reshuffle aimed at execution of its growth strategy beyond 2025.

External disclosures confirm Moolman—currently the Group Chief Risk Officer—will succeed Charles Molapisi in South Africa, while Toriola’s portfolio will extend across Francophone markets alongside Nigeria.

Toriola brings prior regional experience to the assignment, having previously served as Vice President, West and Central Africa at MTN Group before his appointment as CEO of MTN Nigeria.

MTN Nigeria reiterated its commitment to sustaining growth and delivering long-term value to stakeholders as the leadership transition unfolds.
