Geregu Power Plc has announced the appointment of Mr. Andrew Gamble as an Independent Non-Executive Director following the company’s board meeting held on July 11, 2025.
The appointment is subject to shareholder ratification at the next Annual General Meeting.
Mr. Gamble brings extensive legal and financial expertise to the board, having served as a Partner at Hogan Lovells where he advised multiple sovereign governments, multilateral institutions, and financial entities.
He previously held senior leadership positions at the firm, including Head of International Banking and Regional Managing Partner for London, and led its Africa Practice.
His international experience spans key roles in the firm’s expansion into markets such as Moscow, Warsaw, Dubai, and Johannesburg.
He also held positions in Frankfurt and served on the firm’s International Management Board.
Currently operating as an independent consultant, Mr. Gamble advises on legal, finance, and corporate strategy matters.
He also holds independent directorships, including as Chairman of Africa Credit Opportunities Limited and Chair of the Risk Committee at NASDAQ-listed Freedom Holding Corp.
His past board memberships include Zenith Bank UK and Afreximbank.
Gamble serves on the Governing Council of the Pan-African Payments and Settlement System and has contributed to the non-profit sector through roles such as trustee of ENT UK and legal adviser to the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Geregu Power stated that his appointment aligns with the company’s governance and strategic priorities as it continues to enhance board diversity and strengthen oversight.
