Starlink has resumed direct hardware shipments to Nigeria and unveiled a new walk-in office on Victoria Island, Lagos, reinforcing its commitment to expand operations in its largest African market by subscriber base.

The company confirmed that direct deliveries of residential kits restarted on June 29, 2025, following a seven-month suspension that began in November 2024. Nigerian customers can now place fresh orders for Starlink setup kits via the company’s official website or through authorised third-party retailers nationwide.

The newly launched walk-in centre on Victoria Island is designed to serve as an information and customer support hub for both prospective and existing subscribers. While hardware sales and activations will continue to be processed online and through approved resellers, the physical office is expected to strengthen customer engagement and brand visibility in Nigeria’s competitive broadband market.

Starlink, which commenced operations in Nigeria in early 2023 from Ivie House on Ajose Adeogun Street, Lagos, has experienced significant adoption, particularly in rural and peri-urban communities underserved by conventional broadband services.

The company’s high-speed, low-latency satellite internet service has positioned it as a viable alternative to traditional fibre and mobile broadband networks, which continue to face challenges including infrastructure vandalism, unstable power supply and maintenance shortfalls.

Industry observers note that Starlink’s reinstatement of direct kit shipments and the opening of a physical office signal its intention to deepen market share in Nigeria and leverage the country as a strategic base for wider African expansion.

The Nigerian broadband landscape remains under strain due to limited last-mile connectivity, leaving significant opportunities for satellite providers to bridge coverage gaps and boost internet penetration in remote areas.

Regulatory hurdles are also easing as authorities look to attract new investments to modernise digital infrastructure.

Starlink’s subscriber base in Nigeria has grown steadily, positioning it as the second largest internet service provider by user numbers within two years of entry.

Market analysts expect the new direct sales channel and walk-in support centre to improve service delivery and drive further uptake, especially among individual and small business customers in remote communities.

With the resumption of hardware deliveries and localised customer support, Starlink has reiterated its ambition to help close Nigeria’s digital divide while expanding its footprint across the African continent.
