Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje has resigned from his position as National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), throwing the party’s national secretariat into uncertainty.

Although details of the resignation remain unclear as of press time, a senior party official confirmed the development late Monday, stating briefly, “Yes, it is true. He has resigned.”

Sources within the party disclosed that Ganduje’s personal belongings were removed from his office at the APC national headquarters earlier in the day, fueling speculation that his exit was imminent.

The development caught staff and visitors at the party’s Abuja secretariat by surprise with some party members describing the sudden move as shocking.

As of Monday evening, no official statement had been issued by the APC’s national leadership or its publicity directorate to clarify the circumstances or announce an interim replacement.

Ganduje, a former two-term Governor of Kano State, assumed the APC chairmanship in August 2023 following the resignation of his predecessor, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

He has since presided over key internal party negotiations and was seen as an influential figure in President Bola Tinubu’s political structure.

Party insiders say the leadership vacuum could trigger power tussles within the ruling party’s National Working Committee (NWC) if not resolved quickly.

Further details are expected in the coming days as the party moves to manage the situation and prevent wider fallout ahead of upcoming political activities.
