Green Africa has suspended all flight operations temporarily following unresolved issues related to its aircraft lessor arrangement.
The development was confirmed in a notice released by the airline to its customers on Monday.
The airline did not disclose specific details regarding the lessor dispute but confirmed that the disruption affects its entire flight schedule.
Green Africa assured customers that it is actively working to resolve the matter and resume operations promptly.
“We sincerely apologise to our valued customers who will be impacted by this disruption. Please rest assured that we are actively working towards ensuring that we are able to resume operations in very short order,” the airline said.
Green Africa’s operations, which serve several key domestic routes, will remain suspended until the underlying issues are fully addressed. The airline did not provide a definite timeline for the resolution.
The suspension adds to the ongoing operational challenges faced by Nigeria’s aviation sector, which has been under pressure due to foreign exchange volatility, rising maintenance costs, and access to leased aircraft under unfavourable terms.
Industry analysts have previously warned that airlines operating under leasing arrangements remain vulnerable to abrupt service disruptions.
Market observers note that the temporary suspension could worsen travel constraints for domestic passengers and further strain the country’s limited aviation capacity.
Green Africa has indicated that customers will be updated regularly as efforts to restore services continue.
