First Bank of Nigeria Limited has expanded its digital banking infrastructure with the launch of a new FirstBank Digital Xperience Centre in Lekki, Lagos to further strengthen its leadership in technology-driven banking services.

The launch represents the fifth Digital Xperience Centre rolled out by the bank since the debut of the innovation in 2021.

The Lekki centre joins a growing list of existing digital hubs located in Victoria Island, the University of Ibadan, Abuja’s Wuse New Market, and Banana Island Estate.

Positioned as a fully automated, self-service facility, the new Lekki centre offers customers access to a broad range of banking solutions through advanced digital technologies, including AI-driven assistants, video banking services, and instant card issuance systems.

Speaking at the launch event, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FirstBank, Olusegun Alebiosu, emphasized the bank’s long-term vision of delivering future-ready financial services aligned with global best practices.

He noted that the digital evolution in banking is not optional but necessary to meet the expectations of the younger, tech-savvy generation.

“We are no longer in an era where people queue in banking halls. Customers want speed, convenience, and secure access to services anytime, anywhere. This is why the Digital Xperience Centre is critical to our transformation agenda,” Alebiosu said.

He added that the newly launched facility is designed to enhance operational efficiency and reduce the reliance on physical banking processes by empowering customers to manage their transactions independently.

The Digital Xperience Centre offers multiple high-tech features including:

  • AI-powered customer assistants to provide real-time support and guidance,

  • Video banking terminals enabling live consultations with customer representatives,

  • Self-service kiosks for account updates, card replacements, and service requests,

  • Automated account opening and debit card issuance, and

  • Fast-track, contactless ATM services.

According to Alebiosu, the launch is a reaffirmation of FirstBank’s commitment to digital inclusion and its role as a pioneer in modernizing Nigeria’s financial services sector.

Also speaking at the event, Executive Director, Retail Banking South Directorate, Oluseyi Popoola Oyefeso, stressed the importance of operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

He charged the bank’s employees to ensure that the facility operates efficiently around the clock.

“We recognize that today’s customers want to complete transactions quickly and move on with their lives. Our responsibility is to ensure this facility functions optimally 24/7. It is not just about innovation; it’s about consistency and reliability,” Oyefeso stated.

The Lekki Xperience Centre underscores FirstBank’s broader digital strategy to deepen customer engagement, enhance access to financial services, and position itself as a forward-looking institution in Nigeria’s increasingly digital economy.

With over 130 years of operation, FirstBank continues to evolve with the changing financial landscape, leveraging technology to deliver cutting-edge solutions to individuals, SMEs, and corporate clients across the continent.
