A Max Air aircraft with 53 passengers on board suffered a tyre burst on landing at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport late Tuesday night.

The aircraft with registration number 5N-MBD had departed the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos for Kano before experiencing the incident at 22:57pm upon touchdown.

A passenger aboard the flight confirmed the development, saying the aircraft suffered tyre burst on landing but that all passengers were safely evacuated.

It was gathered that the nose landing gear tyre may have failed, leading to the incident.

However, there were no reported injuries among the passengers and crew members.
