The Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, has unveiled a 72-hour non-stop shopping festival to promote local businesses and brands in the state during the festive season.
In a statement obtained by Investors King on Sunday, December 22, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, through his Special Adviser on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr Idris Aregbe, revealed that the event will feature over 500 brands and will help them promote their businesses.
According to Aregbe, the Shopping Festival, which will be held at the iconic Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos State, on Monday, December 23, is an initiative by the state Government organized by the Lagos Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, in collaboration with Chain Reaction Ltd.
He revealed that during the Shopping Festival, traders and business owners will have the opportunity to showcase a wide range of products.
Unveiling the event, Aregbe announced, “The Lagos Shopping Festival will feature over 500 vendors, representing a vibrant mix of local artisans and internationally-renowned brands. It will offer a wide array of products, including fashion, electronics, beauty items, home decor, gourmet food, and more.”
Speaking on what visitors should expect, he added, “Whether you are looking for perfect holiday gifts, latest gadgets or unique fashion, you will discover something special at every turn.”
The government expressed optimism that with the initiative, local businesses would be able to connect with influential brands.
He emphasized that the festival aligns with the government’s commitment to giving Lagosians a world-class shopping experience with entertainment, food, and lots more.
Highlighting key features of the event, he stressed, “We also aim to elevate this initiative by connecting small businesses and established brands to global markets and, at the same time, use entertainment and music to drive trade. Beyond shopping, the festival will also provide a dynamic and exciting atmosphere with live performances, entertainment, food stalls, and much more.
“The Lagos Shopping Festival is more than just a shopping event; it is a celebration of Lagos State’s vibrant culture, creativity and commerce,” he concluded.
