Ethiopian Cargo Adds Casablanca as its Newest Freighter Destination

Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Services, the continent’s largest in its category, has commenced freighter services to Casablanca, Morocco, according to the company.

The maiden venture into the Maghreb region reaffirms Ethiopian Cargo’s commitment to enhancing connectivity, global trade, and efficient freight services.

This was disclosed by Mr. Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group.

Tasew stated, “This new service opens a new chapter as it is our maiden venture into the Maghreb region as part of our global freighter network. This addition increases our total African freighter destinations to 35 and boosts our commitment to delivering reliable and efficient services.”

The freighter service to Casablanca utilizes the modern Boeing 777-200F cargo aircraft, boasting a payload capacity exceeding 100 tons.

Ethiopian Cargo’s decision to expand its services into Casablanca reflects its pivotal role as a facilitator of global trade and goods flow, contributing to the economic development of the regions it serves.

Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Services, a strategic unit within the Ethiopian Airlines Group, currently operates one of the most extensive cargo networks globally, covering over 135 international destinations.

With a fleet of more than 145 airplanes, including 17 dedicated freighter aircraft, the airline connects five continents, reinforcing its stature as a key business and investment enabler.

The company’s commitment to excellence is further underscored by its state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a modern warehouse facility with a storage capacity of 1.15 million tons.

Notably, Ethiopian Cargo recently completed the construction of an ultramodern e-commerce warehouse dedicated to mail, couriers, and e-commerce goods, with an impressive capacity of 150,000 tons.

This continuous expansion and investment in cutting-edge facilities position Ethiopian Cargo as a crucial player in the global air cargo landscape.
