Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has unveiled an ambitious plan for 2024, focusing on the completion of several mega projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure and healthcare across the state.

In an exclusive telephone interview, Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, outlined the key priorities for the upcoming year.

With an allocated budget of N2.2tn, the state government is poised to judiciously utilize funds for ongoing projects that will significantly impact the lives of Lagosians.

Among the high-priority projects slated for completion is the Mercy Seat Hospital, touted to become the largest pediatric hospital in Africa.

Omotoso expressed confidence that this state-of-the-art medical facility will be a game-changer in healthcare, symbolizing the administration’s commitment to providing top-notch medical services.

Notably, the Mental Health Centre in Ketu Ejinrin, a 500-bed hospital dedicated to mental health, is set to be finalized.

Omotoso emphasized the importance of mental health, signaling the state’s proactive approach to addressing often-overlooked health concerns.

In addition to healthcare initiatives, the Commissioner highlighted the completion of the long-awaited Ojo General Hospital.

The endeavor, the first of its kind in decades, is expected to significantly bolster the healthcare infrastructure in the region.

A key highlight of the visionary plan is the development of the new airport in the Lekki area. Sanwo-Olu’s administration envisions this airport as a critical component of Lagos’ growth, providing improved connectivity and facilitating economic development in the region.

Omotoso assured residents of Lagos that these projects are not just about infrastructure but will also serve as catalysts for job creation, ensuring the welfare and comfort of the populace.

As the administration gears up for an action-packed 2024, Lagosians eagerly anticipate the realization of these monumental projects that promise to transform their city into a beacon of progress and prosperity.
