The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has successfully recovered N-Power funds that were held for several months.
The National Program Manager of N-Power, Mr. Akindele, shared this heartening news after a meeting with representatives of N-Power beneficiaries.
Mr. Akindele announced that the funds had been successfully retrieved and assured beneficiaries that they would soon receive their long-delayed payments.
This development is particularly welcome for Batch C beneficiaries who had been waiting for eight months to receive their stipends.
The National Program Manager credited Dr. Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, for her relentless efforts to rectify irregularities within the N-Power program and other social investment initiatives.
These irregularities had eroded public trust in the government’s capacity to provide social safety coverage, but Dr. Edu’s commitment is set to address these issues and fulfill President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Mandate for Nigerians.
The recent focus has been on resolving long-standing irregularities that impeded the smooth execution of the N-Power program.
Many beneficiaries had been left without their monthly allowances, and funds had been held by a consultant responsible for managing the enrollment and payment system, whose contract had already expired.
The successful retrieval of these funds is a vital step toward ensuring beneficiaries receive their rightful payments, renewing hope for those who rely on this essential financial support.
