Warren Buffett - Investors King

Billionaire entrepreneur and chairman of Berkshire Hathaway Warren Buffet, while speaking at the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Hathaway’s annual meeting in Omaha, Nebraska, acknowledged the amazing capabilities of AI, but likens it to the creation of an atomic bomb.

Buffet who joins to list of skeptics of Artificial Intelligence said that A.I can change everything in the world and how men think and behave which he feels can pose a danger to society.

While sharing his thoughts on A.I, he said,

“When something can do all kinds of things I get a little bit worried because I know we won’t be able to in-invent it. We did invent for every, very good reason the Atom bomb in World War II, and it was enormously important that we did so. But is it good for the next 200 years of the world that the ability has been unleashed?

“Albert Einstein said the atomic bomb has changed everything but how men think, similarly with A.I, it can change everything in the world except how men think and behave”.

Also present at the annual meeting is Vice Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway Charlie Munger who also expressed his views on A.I. Munger is also skeptical about the hype that has gone into A.I., as he believes that old-fashioned intelligence works pretty well.

Due to the recent speed at which Artificial Intelligence is invented and integrated into different tech products, several entrepreneurs and tech leaders across the globe have called for a pause in AI systems training.

Recall that Tesla CEO Elon Musk and several tech leaders via an open letter last month, called on the artificial intelligence industry to take a six-month pause for the development of safety protocols regarding the technology.

The letter which had been signed by nearly 1,400 people was drafted by the Future of Life Institute, a nonprofit group dedicated to steering transformative technologies away from extreme, large-scale risks and towards benefiting life.

The spread of Artificial Intelligence is frequently applauded for making things a lot easier and a lot less time-consuming, Investors King understands. However, it is predicted to pose great ethical, social, and legal challenges and threats to society as some people claim that it will wipe out thousands of jobs for humans.
