Snapchat, the multimedia instant messaging app, has launched a new AI chatbot called “My AI.” The chatbot is powered by Open AI’s AI Chatbot ChatGPT and will be available as an experimental feature for Snapchat + subscribers starting this week.
While the company currently plans to roll out the feature to all platform users, free or paid, in the near future, Snapchat Plus is currently priced at $3.99 per month.
The company is optimistic that the release of My AI will help expand its paid user base which currently sits at 2 million users.
The chatbot uses the same technology as ChatGPT to generate accurate answers to user queries and is designed as a mobile-friendly tool that can generate answers quickly and concisely. “My AI” will be positioned at the top of the Snapchat chat tab above conversations with friends.
With around 750 million monthly users, Snapchat is the latest tech company to utilize the GPT-3 family of language models to create new AI features for its customers.
The primary purpose of “My AI” is to provide personalized recommendations to users based on their interests and preferences. Users can ask the chatbot questions related to a wide range of topics, such as music, movies, TV shows, and books.
The chatbot will then use the GPT-3 language model to generate responses based on the user’s input. This will help users discover new content that aligns with their interests and preferences.
Snapchat is positioning “My AI” as a way to enhance the user experience by providing a personalized and interactive tool.
The chatbot is easy to use and can be accessed with a few clicks, making it an excellent feature for users who want to explore new content without spending a lot of time searching for it. Moreover, the chatbot is designed to be user-friendly, making it accessible to a wide range of users.
