Tech giant Microsoft has announced that it is set to host a surprise in-person event today, where it is expected to announce and demo its Bing ChatGPT integration and more.

Report reveals that invites were sent last week, and attendees were told there will be news of the progress of a few exciting projects from Microsoft.

The news was also confirmed by the company’s head of public relations Tom Warren but he did not reveal what the event will be about.

Meanwhile, there are speculations that the surprise in-person could be Open AI and ChatGPT maker Sam Altman after he took to his Twitter handle where he posted a picture of himself and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella which he captioned “hello from Redmond! Excited for the event tomorrow”.

Microsoft event is coming days after it announced a multibillion-dollar investment in ChatGPT-maker OpenAI in January, as it seeks to invest $10 billion in the AI company. The deal marks the third phase of partnership between the two tech companies, following Microsoft’s previous investments in 2019 and 2021.

Following the buzz of ChatGPT, Microsoft revealed it renewed partnership with OpenAI around a shared ambition to responsibly advance cutting-edge AI research and democratize AI as a new technology platform.

Investors King understands that Microsoft is reportedly planning to infuse ChatGPT’s AI power with its propriety search engine. Microsoft had earlier provided details on a possible integration of ChatGPT and Bing, however, information concerning a new search experience surfaced last week.

A few images that were posted on the net, revealed Microsoft Bing had a new search interface, which include a larger search box for chatting instead of only submitting search queries.

Unfortunately, the new ChatGPT-Bing teaser appeared for a few minutes and disappeared. It is however not available on the Microsoft Bing search page on Edge browser anymore.
