The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr Babayo Ado, has disclosed that the Federal Government is working to ensure the completion of the East-West Road.

He said the ministry would spend 70 percent of its 2021 budget towards the completion of the project.

According to a statement on Sunday by the ministry’s Director of Press, Deworitshe Patricia, the permanent secretary spoke during his inspection of the Section 4, Eket Bypass Dual Carriage Way and Onne/Eket-Oron Road of the East-West Road in Akwa Ibom State on Friday.

The statement was titled ‘FG to invest 70 per cent of MNDA’s 2021 budget for the completion of the East-West Road project’.

He said, “For the past two days, the Minister of State, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Omotayo Alasoadura, and I have been on the East-West Road for inspection.

“That Section 1 which covers Warri in Delta State to Kaima in Bayelsa has already been completed last year.”
