Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday opened the newly reconstructed Massey Street Children Hospital in Lagos.
The governor, who spoke during the reopening of the rehabilitated/upgraded hospital, said the century-old Massey Street Hospital is more than just a hospital for most of us, it is also a part of our history and heritage.
Sanwo-olu stated “The rehabilitation of the hospital reflects our unwavering determination to bridge all gaps in the health sector while the reconstruction of three major roads in Lagos Island demonstrates our commitment to an inclusive and non-discriminatory developmental agenda.”
“As a responsive government, we identified the inadequacy of Massey Children Hospital to continue to meet the needs of a megacity, and particularly those of the children in need of care.”
“As a result of the increasing number of patients who need to access quality medical services, the capacity has been overstretched and the hospital must be urgently upgraded to meet the needs of patients.”
