Dangote to Open $2 billion Fertiliser Plant Next Week

Africa’s richest man and the president of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has said the Group’s $2 billion urea fertiliser plant located at Ibeju Lekki in Lagos state will commence operations next week.

Aliko Dangote disclosed this in Lagos on Saturday during a tour of the Group’s facilities by Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State.

The governor visited the facility at Lekki Free Trade Zone and Dangote petrochemicals and refinery complex.

The plant has an annual capacity of three million tons of urea and ammonia, according to Dangote.

The Group’s president also disclosed that the refinery plant would be completed in 2021 but operations will commence in the first quarter of 2022.

The refinery has the capacity to refine 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
