Stock Market Opens the Week in Red Despite Seplat, Others Recording Gains

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) opened the week in the red on Monday as Nestle, Julius Berger and others weighed on the Exchange.

Investors traded 586.807 million shares valued at N6.024 billion in 7,611 deals during the trading hours of Monday.

Market value of listed equities moderated to N22.158 trillion from N22.187 trillion recorded on Friday.

NSE All-Share Index declined by 0.13 percent 42,357.90 index points, down from 42,412.66 index points posted on Friday.

Union Bank led the most traded stocks by volume at 79,585,960 shares worth N469,640,553.60. Transcorp followed with 61,758,076 shares estimated at N64,675,827.67. See the details below.
