President  Muhammadu Plans to Sign 2021 Budget Tomorrow

All things being equal, President Muhammadu Buhari plans to sign the 2021 Appropriation Bill into law tomorrow, according to Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity.

Last week, the National Assembly passed the N13.59 trillion budget after adding N500 billion to the N13.08 trillion proposed by the president.

According to the presidential aide, “All things being equal (and note this), the President will sign the 2021 budget into law on Thursday.

“It is not likely that the plan will change though,” Mr. Garba Shehu stated.

A breakdown of the N13.59 trillion shows N496.53 billion was appropriated for N496.53 trillion while N3.32 trillion was budgeted for debt service.

Another N5.64 trillion was earmarked for recurrent (non-debt) expenditure. A total sum of N4.13 trillion was appropriated for capital expenditure.
