Stock Market Gains N21bn as MTN, Dangote Cement Close Lower

The Nigerian Stock Exchange halts bearish trend on Tuesday despite the two most capitasized stocks, Dangote Cement and MTN Nigeria, closing in the red.

The market capitalisation of listed stocks gained N21 billion from N12.549 trillion it closed on Monday to N12.570 trillion on Tuesday. While the NSE All-Share Index expanded by 0.30 percent from 24,026.05 basis points to settle at 24,097.48 basis points.

On Tuesday, activity level dropped as investors traded 155.529 million shares valued at N2.600 billion in 4,060 transactions, against the 189.69 million shares traded in 4,216 transactions on Monday.
