CAC to Process Tax Number with Certificate of Incorporation
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has said henceforth the certificate of incorporation will be issued with Tax Identification Numbers.
In a series of tweets by the commission on Monday, it said the move is in line with the commission’s ease of doing business initiative.
This, the commission said would help reduce the processing time involved in registering a business and processing Tax Identification Numbers from the FIRS.
The commission said, “This is to inform our dear esteemed customers that as part of the Ease of Doing Business initiative, Certificates of Incorporation of Companies registered under Part A of CAMA will henceforth carry Tax Identification Numbers issued by the Federal Inland Revenue Service.”
Therefore, customers do not need to apply separately for tax numbers from the FIRS.
“This has dispensed the need for companies to apply for the issuance of Tax Identification Numbers from the FIRS after incorporation,” the commission stated.
