Malema Leads South African Protesters to U.S Missions

Julius Malema, the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), led a group of demonstrators to the United States missions in South Africa on Monday to protest condemn the killing of George Floyd, the African American, killed by white police in the US.

“We left our homes to come here and say enough is enough,” Malema said. African Americans had supported the anti-apartheid movement and “when they are going through such a difficult period it’s important that we too pay solidarity”, he added.

The ultra-left EFF leader told hundreds of crowds that gathered outside the US embassy that it was imperative for South Africans to stand in solidarity with African Americans.

South African protesters carried placards with “Black Lives Matter” and “Black people are not slaves” outside the U.S. Embassy in Pretoria and consulates in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
