More Nigerians are getting infected by COVID-19, according to recent reports from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The centre for disease reported 238 new cases on Friday to take the total number of confirmed cases in the last one week to 1,297 and 2170 since the outbreak.

Death tolls rose by 10 or 17.24 percent in 24 hours to 68, up from 58 reported on Thursday.

However, the number of patients discharged also surged by 32 to 351.

Breaking down the 238 new cases, 92 of the cases were confirmed in Kano. While 36 were in FCT, 30 in Lagos, 16 in Gombe, 10 in Bauchi, 8 in Delta, 6 in Oyo, 5 in Zamfara, 5 in Sokoto, 4 in Ondo, 4 in Nasarawa, 3 in Kwara, 3 in Edo, 3 in Ekiti, 3 in Borno, 3 in Yobe, 2 in Adamawa, 1 in Niger, 1 in Imo, 1 in Ebonyi, 1 in Rivers and 1 in Enugu.
