The number of COVID-19 infected people in Nigeria rose by 108 to 981, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Accordingly, the number of deaths inched higher to 31 while 197 patients have so far been discharged.

A breakdown of the NCDC report shows, 78 of the new cases were reported in Lagos to take the total number of infected people in the commercial city to 582.

The FCT recorded 14 new cases to a total of 133. Ogun state followed with 5; Gombe 4; Borno 3; Akwa Ibom 2; Kwara 1 and Plateau 1.

“As at 11:30 pm 23rd April there are 981 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria,” the NCDC stated on its official Twitter page.
