The number of infected people continues to rise in Africa’s largest economy as the total confirmed cases jumped by 35 in three days to 323, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

On April 10, the centre had announced seventeen new cases of COVID-19 to take the total number of cases in Nigeria to 305 from 288.

Accordingly, the NCDC reported 13 new cases on Saturday, April 11 and another five new confirmed cases on Easter Sunday, April 12 to take the total number of confirmed cases to 323.

In a twitter post, the centre for disease control said: ” Five new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows: 2 in Lagos; 2 in Kwara and 1 in Katsina.”

“As at 09:10 pm 12th April there are 323 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 85 have been discharged with 10 deaths. There are 19 states with confirmed cases in Nigeria.”

Lagos now has 176 confirmed cases; FCT- 56; Osun- 20; Edo- 12; Oyo- 11; Ogun- 7; Bauchi- 6; Kaduna- 6; Akwa Ibom- 5; Katsina-5; Kwara- 4; Delta- 3; Enugu- 2; Ekiti- 2; Rivers-2; Ondo- 2; Benue- 1; Niger- 1; Anambra- 1 and Kano-1.

According to Worldometer,  more than 1.8 million people have been infected globally with 113,000 deaths. While over 421,000 patients have recovered from the deadly virus.
