- COVID-19: Almost 2,000 Patients Died in USA in One Day
The fast-spreading coronavirus continues to hurt the world’s largest economy as almost 2,000 patients died for a second consecutive day, according to a Johns Hopkins University report Thursday.
The report shows the United States recorded 1,973 deaths on Thursday, slightly above the 1,939 recorded on Wednesday. The total number of US fatalities has now risen to 14,695, more than Spain’s 14,555 deaths but below Italy’s 17,669.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria rose to 276 on Wednesday. While 44 patients have been treated and discharged, the nation has recorded 6 deaths.
“Twenty-two new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 15 in Lagos, 4 in the FCT, 2 in Bauchi, 1 in Edo.” NCDC stated. “
As at 09:00pm 8th April there are 276 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Fourty-four have been discharged with six deaths.”
