- Atedo Peterside Resigns from Unilever, Breweries
Mr Atedo Peterside resigned from the boards of Unilever Nigeria and Nigerian Breweries, according to statements released by both companies.
In a statement to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Unilever Nigeria stated that the business mogul resigned from the company’s board to focus on the organisation he established for the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
“Unilever Nigeria Plc hereby gives the Nigerian Stock Exchange and the investing public notice of resignation of Mr Atedo Peterside, from the board of directors of Unilever Nigeria Plc with immediate effect.
“According to Mr Peterside, the resignation is to enable him focus on fulfilling the objectives of the ANAP Foundation COVID-19 Think Tank which he recently established in March 2020.
“Unilever Nigeria Plc thanks Mr Peterside for his priceless contribution to the board of Unilever Nigeria Plc over the years and wish him every success in his future endeavours,” the firm said.
Unilever thanked Mr Atedo Peterside for his contribution and wished him succes in all future endeavours.
In a similar message, Nigerian Breweries said “Nigerian Breweries Plc hereby informs the Nigerian Stock Exchange and the investing public of the receipt from Mr Atedo Peterside, a notice of resignation from the company’s board of directors.
“Following the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, Mr Peterside recently set up the ANAP Foundation COVID-19 Think Tank.
“Mr Peterside informs the board that his resignation is to enable him focus fully on fulfilling the objectives of the Think Tank especially as the pandemic continues to escalate.
“The resignation takes effect on April 1, 2020.
“Mr Peterside joined the board on August 21, 2008 and served as the Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and subsequently the Governance Committee during his time on the board,” the brewer stated.
