- Rice Production: Kano Hits 3mt Per Year
Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the Governor of Kano State, said rice production in the state has reached three million tonnes per year.
The governor made the statement on Monday during the indigenous rice value-chain promotion programme organised by the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria.
Ganduje, who was represented at the event by his Deputy, Dr Nasiru Gawuna, attributed the positive growth to his administration policies on agriculture, saying it has helped enhance productivity and job creation in the state.
“Today, I am proud to state that due to the activities and policies of this administration towards agriculture, rice production in Kano has hit three million tonnes per year,” he said.
