- Air Peace to Commence Flight Operations to Ibadan
Nigeria’s largest domestic airline, Air Peace, has announced it would commence flight operations to Ibadan.
Mr. Allen Onyema, the Chairman, Air Peace, disclosed this at the University of Ibadan Alumni Association luncheon and awards.
“Very soon, we shall start flying Abuja-Ibadan-Abuja daily, Kano-Ibadan-Kano and Owerri-Ibadan-Owerri three times a week,” Onyema stated.
Onyema, who delivers a lecture on ‘Nigeria and the rise and rise of ethnic nationalism’, said Nigeria’s issue remained its inability to exist outside the prism of ethnicity.
The UI alumnus said Nigerians use ethnic sentiments in salient national discourses.
“We must make a resolve to start harnessing the powers that lie in our ethnic composition and leverage them for the development of the country,” he said.
Receiving the awards, Onyema said “My joy knows no bounds today. I appreciate this academia because it contributed to making me who I am today. I love my country and will continue to live a life of selflessness.”
Onyema urged fellow alumni to give back to the university and society at large.
