The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted Omoyele Sowore, the convener of RevolutionNow protest, bail with shocking conditions.

Justice Ijeoma Ojukwo, who presided over the case, barred Sowore from participating in any rally pending the conclusion of his trial.

She also barred Omoyele Sowore from traveling outside the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and restricted the second defendant to Osogbo during the trial.

Sowore was granted bail in the sum of N100 million with two sureties in like sum.

The two sureties must be resident in Abuja, have landed properties worth the bail sum in Abuja and they must deposit the original title documents of the assets with the court.

Justice Ijeoma Ojukwo also ordered Sowore to deposit the sum of N50 million in the account of the court as security.

Sowore’s counsel, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), described the bail conditions as stringent.

Sowore is to remain in the custody of the Department of State Service pending when he would meet the bail conditions.
