  • Nigerian Stock Exchange Loses 0.29% Last Week

The Nigerian Stock Exchange depreciated by 0.29 percent last week as investors’ confidence remained weak.

The market capitalisation of listed equities depreciated by 0.20 percent to close at N13.484 trillion while the NSE All-Share Index closed the week at 27,698.69.

Activity level was mixed as total shares of 1.272 billion valued at N18.750 billion were exchanged in 19,482 deals, against the 1.147 billion shares worth N14.082 billion that were traded in 17,980 deals in the previous week.

In terms of volume traded, the financial services industry led with 945.947 million shares valued at N9.743 billion traded in 11,046 transactions.

Followed by the consumer goods industry with 82.934 million shares worth N5.556 billion in 2,862 deals. Conglomerates industry came third with a turnover of 80.821 million shares worth N267.101 million in 1,163 deals.

Top traded equities in terms of volume were FBN Holdings Plc, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc and Access Bank Plc that accounted for 482.334 million shares valued at N6.561 billion in 4,724 transactions.
